The Camel Trail is a disused railway line and runs from Padstow, through Wadebridge and on toBodmin, continuing up to Poley’s Bridge and beyond. The Trail is considered to be in two halves. Wadebridge to Padstow, and Wadebridge to Bodmin and beyond. The Camel Trail is unique in that it is almost all off-road and therefore considered safe for a family’s day out cycling.
The two parts of the Trail are completely different and give cyclists a different view of the area. From Wadebridge to Padstow cyclists are riding alongside the estuary and enjoy spectacular views out to sea. There is always plenty of activity on the Camel estuary during the summer months, families sailing and water skiing. Bird life is in abundance on both sections of the Trail and walkers’, as well as cyclists, can enjoy the birds on show. The Wadebridge to Bodmin section of the Camel Trail is completely different and offers a taste of our lovely countryside. The Camel
Valley winery is also located along the Trail at Nanstallon.
